Cochlear implantation and ENT surgery

3D imaging offers new possibilities in cochlear implant surgery

By 2023, more than 1 million cochlear implants had been inserted worldwide.1 That is invaluable for the patients’ quality of life.

The Ziehm Vision RFD 3D mobile C-arm helps achieve a high degree of accuracy in the placement of cochlear implants in conventional ear, nose and throat surgery. Its CT-like imaging enables precise control and, if necessary, revision while still in the sterile field.

A cochlear volume of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm with a slice distance of 0.195 mm was developed specifically for complex applications. With intelligent metal artifact reduction, the smallest of the implant electrodes can be displayed with a maximum size of 0.31 mm.
